The Ballad of the First Party begins a traditional anime RPG fantasy adventure about the adventuring party history remembered only in pieces.

The First Party includes Elara Dawncrest, a human paladin; Brakka, an ogre fighter; Odo Madsong, a hobbit bard; Elanor Aravel, an elf ranger; Dovar Redmane, a dwarf cleric; and Lucian Gale, a human mage.

The great war is over. The Hero Party has been celebrated in every capital, guild hall, and tavern song across the realm. But before the heroes won, another party walked those dangerous roads first — a paladin, an ogre fighter, a hobbit bard, an elf ranger, a dwarf cleric, and an old human mage.

They did not defeat the great evil, and history was not especially kind to what happened afterward. Years of retelling turned a complicated failure into a simple tavern ballad, leaving the First Party remembered more for the battle they could not finish than for everything they survived before it.
