Asterion is the staff carried by Lucian Gale in The Ballad of the First Party.
Built around a blue crystal focus and an ornate circular frame, the staff is designed for precision rather than brute force. Its purpose is not to strike, block, or break, but to gather unstable arcane energy and shape it into controlled spellwork.
The crystal acts as a stabilizing prism, catching magical force before Lucian releases it. In battle, Asterion allows him to read the shifting pattern of a threat and answer with measured power rather than raw destruction.
Among the First Party’s equipment, Asterion is one of the quietest weapons, but also one of the most dangerous in the right hands.
