Odo Madsong’s lute from The Ballad of the First Party, a warm-voiced instrument carried through taverns, roads, and dangerous places where the party needs courage most.

Hearthsong is the lute carried by Odo Madsong in The Ballad of the First Party.
Plain at first glance, the instrument is not decorated like a royal court piece or built to impress nobles from a balcony. Its strength lies in its warmth. Around campfires, tavern tables, cold roads, and dungeon thresholds, Hearthsong gives the First Party something every adventuring company needs but few admit to relying on: steadiness.
Odo uses Hearthsong to lift spirits, soften fear, remember where the party has been, and remind them why the road is still worth walking. Its music does not strike like Aurora, shield like Eventide, or break like Ruina. It holds the space between battles, where courage has to be rebuilt.
Among the First Party’s artifacts, Hearthsong represents fellowship itself: the sound of a shared fire, a remembered joke, and one more song before the dark closes in.
