Every village has someone who remembers the old ways.

In the hidden forest settlement deep within the Wildborne jungle, that person is Elder Tomoe.

Tomoe serves as the quiet spiritual leader of the village, a role built not on authority or power, but on patience, observation, and the careful interpretation of the forest’s unseen currents. While others see only wilderness surrounding the village, Tomoe understands the deeper truth.

The jungle is alive.

Not simply with animals and trees, but with memory, spirit, and ancient influences that have shaped the Wildborne world for generations.

For many years Tomoe has acted as a mediator between the villagers and those unseen forces. When storms move strangely through the mountains, when the jungle paths shift, or when something ancient stirs beneath the canopy, it is Tomoe the people turn to first.

She does not rush to judgment.

She listens.

Age has slowed her steps, but not her awareness. In many ways, Tomoe sees more clearly now than she did in her youth. She knows that the forest rarely reveals its intentions directly, and that power without understanding can lead even the bravest warrior into danger.

This is why, when the Spiritwalkers begin to awaken and the Wildborne girls encounter the mysterious cave presence, Tomoe does not urge them toward battle.

She urges them toward caution.

Force, she believes, is often the least useful response when dealing with ancient powers that have waited centuries to be noticed again.

To Elder Tomoe, survival in the Wildborne jungle is not about conquering the forest.

It is about knowing when to listen.

When to step back.

And when the wisest path forward is simply walking away.
