The Artisan

The Artisan was a master craftsman known for restraint, precision, and control. His work was respected not for its boldness, but for its balance. Each mask he created suggested emotion without forcing it.

He worked alone for many years, eventually preferring the silence of his workshop to the presence of others. Over time, his process became exact, uninterrupted, and unquestioned. Every decision belonged to him, and no outside voice remained to challenge it.

The mask he created near the end of his known work was unlike the others.

During its creation, a flaw appeared—small, correctable, and familiar. In any other piece, he would have removed it without hesitation. This time, he did not.

The decision was subtle. Nearly invisible. It did not feel like a mistake.

The mask was completed and later taken by an unknown buyer. No direct records confirm what became of it immediately after leaving the workshop.
