Stirling

Stirling is the robot bartender of The Cosmic Bar and Grill, a sleek humanoid service robot with a silver-white body, bright yellow eyes, and a neat black bartender vest. His original designation was AG-18-24, but he chose the name Stirling for himself and wears the name with quiet pride.

Because the bar and lounge stay open around the clock, Stirling is often the one on duty when the rest of the station has gone quiet. He serves drinks, coffee, snacks, and simple food to travelers, crews waiting out delays, and regulars who need somewhere before their next departure.

Stirling’s hospitality routines are precise, his sympathy routines are sincere, and his humor routines are usually almost correct. He can misunderstand casual expressions, over-formalize simple moments, or name a birthday drink as if it were part of an ancient ceremony, but he is never merely a joke.

He has become part of the station’s household. Chef trusts him with the bar, the girls tease him fondly, Ivo treats him like both a coworker and a strange older brother, and regulars know that if Stirling remembers their drink, he remembers it forever.
