Misaki Aratake rose through the ranks faster than anyone in academy history — not by favoritism, but by outscoring every cadet on tactics, endurance, and command simulations. She wasn’t born into a military family. In fact, she barely knew hers. What shaped her was the open ocean — and the storms she refused to be afraid of.

She earned her commission aboard the Tenryu during its infamous typhoon campaign, where she coordinated a full crew retreat while lightning struck the deck. Since then, she’s been called “The Thunder Ensign” — not because she controls lightning, but because she keeps showing up where it strikes.
