Kaelen Vance

Kaelen Vance is a solitary interstellar archivist who travels to dying star systems, abandoned colonies, and failing stations to recover what would otherwise disappear with them. He salvages personal recordings, cultural archives, machine memories, lost transmissions, and even digital consciousnesses left behind by civilizations that no longer have anyone to remember them.

Kaelen is not a soldier, pirate, or treasure hunter. His work is preservation, and he approaches every archive as something that once belonged to real people rather than as data to be collected. His weather-worn black and orange coat is threaded with fiber-optic data channels, while a seamless silver cybernetic visor translates damaged signals into readable waveforms. A sealed canister on his back stores compressed data-dust recovered from dead systems and ruined worlds.

Quiet, methodical, and difficult to rush, Kaelen listens for signals others ignore and stays long enough to understand what he has found. The longer he works, the harder one question becomes to avoid: does preserving something give him the right to keep it?
