Chef

Chef is the owner and head cook of The Cosmic Bar and Grill, a worn deep-space stopover where long-haul crews, couriers, travelers, and route workers come in tired and leave a little better than they arrived. He is usually known only as Chef, and that suits him fine.

In his late fifties, Chef has the calm, stubborn presence of someone who has spent enough time traveling to appreciate a place that stays put. He notices more than he says, keeps the grill moving, and solves most problems with timing, food, and a few practical words.

Chef is not a hidden legend or secret master chef. His cooking is ordinary in the best way: hot ramen, good burgers, fries, simple breakfasts, late-night soup, and the kind of meals people crave after too many days of ship food. Regulars trust him because the food is familiar, filling, and made with care.

He looks after people quietly: saving a plate, keeping a candle in a drawer, pretending not to notice when someone needs an extra serving, or making sure Ivo still gets to be a kid even while helping around the kitchen.
