The Guard’s Logbook was found inside Kurono Correctional Facility, a prison closed for twenty-two years after an incident the official record only called a “disturbance of unusual character.” The facility had operated from 1951 to 2002 before being abandoned, sealed, and left to decay behind its administrative language.
