The Great Bell of Valedrin is an enormous ancient bronze bell suspended in the city’s old bell chamber high within the mountain stronghold. Its broad body is darkened by age, with soot-softened metal, patches of patina, worn sacred linework, and the visible marks of centuries spent hanging in the same place. Heavy beams and iron fittings support its weight, and its deep clapper hangs within the bell’s shadowed interior.

For the people of Valedrin, the bell is more than a piece of old civic architecture. It stands at the center of an older binding that connects the Bellkeeper, a celestial guardian, and the life of the city beneath it. Its voice carries the weight of that covenant, and its presence reflects the long agreement that has shaped Valedrin’s safety, order, and sacrifice across generations.

The bell becomes especially important when Elysia uncovers the truth beneath the oath that has governed the city for so long. What appears at first to be a revered relic is revealed to be part of the mechanism holding that arrangement in place. Its continued presence in the chamber is not merely ceremonial. It is tied directly to the structure of the old vow and to the burden carried in its name.

Even once the hidden truth is brought into the open, the Great Bell of Valedrin remains one of the clearest physical reminders of what the city had accepted for generations. It is a monument to duty, endurance, and the cost of keeping an old promise alive long after few still understood what that promise required.
