Ashenford’s Third Envoy Letter was written during the later days of uncertainty surrounding the Horned Queen’s arrival.

By the time Reeve Talren prepared this appeal, Ashenford had already sent earlier requests for help and received no meaningful answer. The silence from larger powers had become its own kind of warning, leaving the town to wonder whether the kingdoms beyond the harbor were ignoring them, afraid of involvement, or simply unsure what could be done.

The letter’s wording is formal, but its meaning is desperate. It records that the vessel remained offshore, that the figure known as the Horned Queen had not departed, and that previous envoys had returned without answer.

In later accounts, the third envoy is remembered as one of the clearest signs that the mystery had grown too large for a single town to carry, even as every road outward seemed to lead only into silence.
