Evan's Patient File

Evan’s Patient File is one of the Institute’s restricted records, a worn manila folder marked with Evan Miles’ name and buried among forms that refuse to tell a clean story.

Inside are patient intake sheets, blacked-out reports, amended records, transfer notices, and dates that do not line up the way official history should. The file does not simply document Evan’s presence inside the Institute. It raises the question of when he arrived, how long he has been there, and who has been rewriting the record around him.

For The Lore Paradox, the file represents the Institute’s power over identity. A person can be renamed, reclassified, amended, transferred, or hidden behind black bars of ink until the record becomes more important than the truth.

As an artifact, Evan’s Patient File captures the story’s central fear: that the Institute does not just keep records. It controls them.
